Wholesale Press-On Nails for Small Brands: MOQ, Samples and Packaging Before Your First Order

Planning your first wholesale press-on nail order? Compare ready-made stock, private branding and custom designs, then confirm MOQ, samples, packaging and shipping in one brief.

If you are starting a press-on nail brand, the safest first wholesale order is not the largest one. It is the one whose design route, quantity per design, set contents, packaging and destination are written clearly enough to quote and sample.

At SENAILGLOBAL, buyers can start from existing catalog styles, discuss branding on existing styles, or develop a new design. Those routes do not share the same MOQ or approval process.

Choose your buying route first

1. Existing catalog designs

This is the simplest route when you need to test demand, build a first collection or compare several styles. Ask which designs are currently available, how many sets can be supplied for each style and whether the designs can be mixed in one order. Availability should be confirmed for the specific quote; do not treat a catalog page as a live inventory promise.

The current catalog shows stock pricing bands for ready-made routes: 1-99 sets at USD 2 per set, 100-499 at USD 1.80, and 500 or more at USD 1.50. These figures are for stock routes only. A new custom design or a packaging request needs its own quotation.

2. Existing designs with your branding

If the nail style is already selected but the presentation needs to carry your brand, ask for a separate line item for the backing card, outer pack, artwork and proof. A branded card does not automatically change the nail design, the set contents or the nail quantity.

This route is useful when your priority is a branded retail presentation without committing to new nail artwork. Confirm the packaging quantity for each printed version instead of assuming that the nail-set quantity is also the printing quantity.

3. New custom nail designs

New artwork needs a different discussion. For the current SENAILGLOBAL route, a new custom nail design starts at 100 sets per design. The design sample is USD 5 per design plus freight, with the exact piece count and sample scope confirmed separately.

If you need several designs, write the quantity per design rather than only the total quantity. Ten designs at ten sets each is not the same production brief as one design at one hundred sets.

What MOQ should mean in your quote

MOQ is only useful when it is attached to the item it controls. In a press-on nail quotation, separate at least these quantities:

  • Nail sets per design
  • Total nail sets in the order
  • Printed backing cards per version
  • Outer packaging units
  • Physical samples and proofs
  • Any agreed accessory or insert

The 100-set minimum for a new custom nail design is not a universal MOQ for every printed box or card. Packaging quantities, existing-design mixed orders and stock availability need their own confirmation. Ask the supplier to show these quantities beside the price, not only in a chat message.

Plan samples before you compare unit prices

A nail sample and a packaging proof answer different questions. The nail sample checks the design, shape, finish and agreed contents. A packaging proof checks the card or box material, print, size and how the complete set looks when assembled.

Our current design sample reference is USD 5 per design plus shipping. A packaging or backing-card proof is usually about USD 20 plus shipping, with the final fee confirmed from the material, printing and specifications. Ask whether the packaging quote covers a print-only proof or an assembled sample with the intended contents.

Keep a record of the approved design, size assortment, card artwork and pack structure. A message saying “same as this photo” leaves too many production details unresolved.

Decide what one sellable set contains

Before choosing the package, define one customer-ready set. Write down the nail-piece count, agreed size assortment, design reference and accessories. If an instruction card is required, include its text or language requirements in the brief.

SENAILGLOBAL supplies jelly adhesive tabs; liquid glue is not a standard supplied item. Do not design the pack around a glue bottle or an accessory kit unless those contents have been explicitly agreed in writing.

For the packaging direction, decide whether you are considering a branded backing card, a clear outer box or a printed paperboard box. Then check the assembled sample: can the customer identify the design and size, can the nails be seen clearly, and does the packaging protect the set during the planned shipping method?

Separate nail, branding and shipping costs

Ask the quotation to distinguish the nail sets, branded cards, outer packaging, agreed accessories, sample work and shipping. Ask which setup or print costs are included instead of assuming that every preparation item is free.

For a first order, the lowest unit price is not always the lowest-risk option. A smaller, clearly specified test order can show which designs sell and which packaging works before you repeat the same specification at a larger quantity.

You can review current stock-route pricing and sample references on the catalog page. For branded packaging and new design planning, use the private-label press-on nails page and request an itemized quote.

Use this first-order brief

Send the following information together so the quote can answer the real purchasing question:

  • Sales country and sales channel
  • Existing catalog designs or new artwork references
  • Sets per design and total sets
  • Contents of one customer-ready set
  • Desired backing card, clear box or paperboard direction
  • Logo, instruction text and language requirements
  • Whether you need a nail sample, packaging proof or assembled sample
  • Delivery country, postal code and target arrival date

If the packaging format is still open, say so. A supplier can then compare what is practical instead of pricing a structure that was chosen too early. For artwork, material and physical approval, continue with the press-on nail packaging proof checklist.

Common first-order mistakes

Treating every MOQ as the same

A nail MOQ, a new-design MOQ and a printed-packaging quantity may be different. Put each one in the quotation.

Comparing stock pricing with custom pricing

Ready-made stock and new artwork use different preparation work. Compare like with like, and ask what is included in the displayed price.

Sampling only the nail

A nail can be approved while the card or box still has the wrong size, material or print. Sample the complete customer-facing set when packaging is part of the purchase decision.

Promising a launch date before the specification is closed

Sampling and production timing depend on the confirmed design, quantity, packaging and destination. Confirm the schedule after those inputs are fixed.

FAQ

Can I mix designs in a first wholesale order?

Some existing-design orders can be discussed as a mixed order, but the available quantity and price depend on the specific designs. Send the style list and sets per design for confirmation.

Does packaging use the same MOQ as the nail set?

Not automatically. Printed cards, boxes and other inserts can have their own quantity and proof requirements. Ask for them as separate quotation lines.

How long does sampling take?

A custom sample is usually discussed at about one week after payment and specification confirmation. The exact schedule depends on the design and sample scope. Larger production schedules are quoted after the order is defined.

What should I send to get a useful quote?

Send the design references, quantity per design, set contents, packaging direction, branding files, destination and target timing. This is more useful than sending only the phrase “small MOQ.”

Start with a focused first order

A good first wholesale order gives you an answer you can use: which designs to repeat, which set contents to standardize and which package supports your sales channel. Start with a clear brief, approve the physical sample and keep the nail, packaging and shipping costs visible.

For a catalog-led test order, start with the wholesale catalog. For a branded collection or new design, send the same brief through the private-label service page or email sales@senailglobal.com. Japan-market buyers can also contact visionailsjp@gmail.com.
