The short answer
For a new press-on nail design, our current quote is USD 5 per design plus shipping. Once the sample fee is paid and the specifications are confirmed, making the sample usually takes about one week. Existing styles may be faster; complex custom work is confirmed separately. Shipping time is not included in that production estimate.
Packaging proofing is a separate line. A packaging or nail-card proof is usually quoted at about USD 20 plus shipping, with the final amount confirmed from the material, printing method and specification. A nail sample and a packaging proof should not be treated as one fee.
The quote should also state whether the sample is an individual nail or a set, the number of pieces, sizes, shape, length and packaging components. Do not assume that “one design sample” automatically means a complete ten-nail set.
Two sample steps, two decisions
1. Design sample
The design sample is for one question: does the actual nail match the design brief? Confirm the color direction, shape, length, size range, surface details and the number of pieces to be made. Approving the nail sample does not automatically approve the card, box or barcode artwork.
2. Packaging proof
The packaging proof answers a different question: does the branded presentation match the approved brief? Confirm the logo, nail-card material, box type, label or barcode requirement and the usage copy supplied by the buyer. Packaging is quoted separately because material and printing choices change the work involved.
For a broader packaging decision, see our press-on nail packaging proof checklist. If you are still preparing the artwork, use the custom design brief before asking for a sample quote.
A practical timeline from brief to bulk order
- Send the brief. Include the reference images, color direction, shape, length, sizes, quantity per design, destination market and packaging request.
- Confirm the quote. The quote separates the design sample, packaging proof and freight. It also records whether the sample is an individual nail or a set.
- Pay the sample fee. The sample-making clock starts after payment and specification confirmation, not when a first message is sent.
- Review the physical sample. Check color difference, shape, size, decoration, quantity and visible hand-finished details against the written brief.
- Approve the sample and packaging specifications. Keep the approved version and any changes in writing. A new change may need a new confirmation or sample.
- Confirm the production order. New custom designs start at 100 sets per design. Production timing is confirmed again from the final designs, quantities and packaging.
If you are comparing suppliers, Shopify’s wholesale buying checklist is a useful general reference for checking MOQ, samples, freight and lead time. It is not a statement about SENAILGLOBAL’s terms; your quote remains the document to rely on.
What to put in the first email
A short, complete brief is easier to quote than a folder of unlabelled images. Include:
- Your brand name and destination market.
- The number of designs and the expected sets per design.
- Existing catalog designs or new design references.
- Preferred shape and length, such as short oval, short almond, long almond or extra long.
- Size range and whether the sample should be an individual nail or a complete set.
- Logo, nail-card, box, label and barcode requirements.
- Whether you need jelly tabs or no adhesive item.
- Your target production window and preferred air or sea shipping discussion.
You can open the catalog sample section or review the private-label terms before sending the brief. For a direct quotation, email sales@senailglobal.com. Japan-market cooperation can also be discussed at visionailsjp@gmail.com, or you can message WhatsApp.
Questions worth settling before approval
Does the sample fee cover shipping?
No. The design sample is quoted at USD 5 per design, and international shipping is charged separately. Packaging proof shipping is also confirmed separately.
Can several designs share one sample fee?
Do not assume that. The quote should list the number of designs and the fee per design. Multiple designs need to be confirmed before payment.
When does bulk production start?
After the sample and packaging specifications are confirmed. New custom designs have a 100-set-per-design MOQ. A lower quantity for a particular existing style is not a general custom-design rule; it must be checked in the quotation.
What if the final goods do not match the approved requirement?
Every finished set is checked by hand before shipment. If a manufacturing or packing issue is verified and was not caused by the customer, a replacement can be arranged after review. The approval record helps both sides identify what was agreed.
The buyer’s final sample record
Keep one simple record with the approved images, design name, shape, length, sizes, nail count, card or box specification, quantity per design and the date of approval. This is not bureaucracy for its own sake. It makes a later color, quantity or packaging question specific enough to resolve.
If you are ready to compare an existing style with a new private-label design, start a sample request in the catalog and include the details above. You can also send the brief to sales@senailglobal.com or visionailsjp@gmail.com.
